Please join WHARR, Central Brooklyn Independent Democrats, Brooklyn Young Democrats, New Kings Democrats, and others for a womxn only networking mixer.

This event is intended to be a fun and informal setting for networking and socializing. It's also important and powerful for womxn to gather and take up literal space in politics.

Political Action Party:
Free Screening of LIFEHOUSE
+ CPC Action

Wednesday, October 2, 7:30-9:00
YWCA Brooklyn (30 Third Avenue, Brooklyn, NY)

WHARR is excited to announce our next PAP (Political Action Party)! We’re presenting a free screening of LIFEHOUSE, a fascinating 30-min documentary that follows the activities of a group of student interns working at a “Crisis Pregnancy Center,” or fake clinic. A short Q&A session with filmmakers Heba Elorbany and Kimberly Flores Guzman will follow.

Afterwards, we’re asking people to take action. We’ll stuff envelopes with letters to New York city and state elected officials, alerting them about Crisis Pregnancy Centers (CPCs) in their district and asking them to support a bill pending in the legislature that mandates a study of CPCs. This study will help legislators draft effective regulation. We are also asking them to allocate increased funding for Governor Cuomo’s Know Your Options public awareness campaign.

Because it’s a WHARR PAP, there will be fun, food, and wine too!

Seating is limited, so please RSVP here.

Learn more about Crisis Pregnancy Centers, or CPCs.

This event is made possible because of the generous support of YWCA Brooklyn. This meeting space is accessible.
